For golfers,
the Golf Klub Český Krumlov is located a mere 20 minutes from Chvalšiny in the village of Svachova Lhotka. This course has flatter and undulating greens, where even people with a higher handicap can get some play in. The middle of the course features a resort with its own brewery, where you can get yourself some refreshments and even enjoy the wellness centre.
The next golf course can be found right in České Budějovice, about a 30-minute drive away. The course is open to complete beginners as well.
Another course we can recommend is the Golf Club Hluboká nad Vltavou, located around 45 minutes by car from Chvalšiny. Here they have a 9- and 18-hole course that’s situated in the beautiful little town of Hluboká nad Vltavou, with its view of the white walls and golden battlements of the local chateau.
By driving just a bit over an hour, you can also reach the golf course in Bechyně. This 9-hole course is located right in the Černická obora, an enclosure built towards the end of the 19th century. It’s right here on this 500x200 metre meadow that you’ll find 5 of the 9 holes and where you can admire the beautifully aged deciduous trees. The course isn’t an easy one, primarily because a few of the holes are in the forest, however, even beginners can enjoy a game right on the meadow. This is the oldest golf course in South Bohemia.
